| Water-Our Most Precious Resource |
|
Earth's first inhabitants drank the same water you drink. The water present on Earth today is the same water that was formed with the planet itself. The amount of water cannot be increased or decreased.
As you may know, 75% of the Earth's Surface is covered with water. However, less than 3% is suitable for consumption. |

| How Water Becomes Contaminated |
|
Underground, water travels through rock and soil where it can attract minerals or contaminants and carry them to private and community wells. Chemicals are dumped by industry, which find their way into our ground water. Agricultural pesticide usage and highway de-icing are among many other common practices that also can contaminate water. Water can beome contaminated while traveling through the water-lines from your municipal water plant to your home. Lead and asbestos-cement pipes may allow substances to leach into the water. Chlorine used to disinfect the water reacts with organic matter and create Trihalomethanes (THMs) which are know carcinogens. In addition, parasites such as Cryptosporidium are resistant to municipal treatment, and may find their way to your drinking water.
Affordable Water offers solutions to these problems - Offering clean healthy water. |
